The Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association (AMYA) has continuously made efforts to help combat poverty in Canada. Through different initiatives such as “Feed the Homeless”, AMYA has provided food to marginalized communities throughout the year. The campaign accelerates in the holiday season and has taken on various forms such as Holiday Dinner on Wheels.
In the Holy Qur’an, Allah states, “Worship Allah and do not set anything aside for Him, and (show) kindness to parents, relatives, orphans and the needy, the neighbor who is a relative, and the neighbor who is a stranger, the companion at your side and the wanderer and those who have your rights. Verily, Allah does not love the proud, the boastful.” (Sura Al Nisa, verse 37)
This is the inspiration behind majority of the work done by AMYA to help Canadians and those in need. Our goal is to support people with difficult social situations, e.g. those who have no roof over their heads and have difficulty making ends meet. For example, they are given hot meals. This project also aims to raise compassion and awareness for people in need in the AMYA volunteers. Members of AMYA regularly take food packages out to give to those who are in need.
Another great initiative! After the success of ‘Shelter Bus on Wheels’, ‘Holiday Dinner on Wheels’ is another initiative by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association Canada 🇨🇦 to provide meals to the less fortunate during the holidays.@AMYACanada #Canada #Muslims pic.twitter.com/4lTsWySS0G
