As the harsh Canadian winter began, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association launched a unique campaign to serve those less fortunate in various parts of Toronto.
The “Shelter Bus” is a comfortable, repurposed coach bus outfitted with 20 beds, a kitchenette, lounge space and bathrooms. As part of this initiative, Ahmadi Muslim youth will be taking the “Shelter Bus” every night for three months to various neighbourhoods of Toronto to provide shelter and hot meals to those in need.
Members of the public interested in volunteering for this campaign or obtaining more information are encouraged to visit shelterbus.ca.
One of the fundamental teachings of Islam as taught and exemplified by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), is to give charity and serve humanity irrespective of race, religion and ethnicity. In line with these teachings, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association is taking on this Shelter Bus initiative.
