Toronto Muslim Youth Group Mobilizes to Help Canadians During Second Wave of COVID-19

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association launches the nationwide “Neighbourhood Helper” campaign.

With the rapidly growing number of COVID-19 cases in Canada, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association has launched a nationwide initiative to help Canadians during this difficult time.

Through the “Neighbourhood Helper” campaign, Toronto Muslim youth have been offering their services to help Canadians who need assistance with picking up groceries, filling prescriptions and providing overall moral support.

Canadians who require assistance were encouraged to call 1-855-HELP811 or sign up on www.helpingneighbours.com. Flyers were also distributed in cities and towns across Canada with details on how to get in touch with local teams for assistance.

“As we are faced with the second wave of COVID-19, Canadians must come together and support each other during this difficult time,” says Mr. Zubair Afzal, National President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association Canada. “We have launched the Neighbourhood Helper campaign to boost the spirits of Canadians and help those who need it most.”

The campaign will run indefinitely as we monitor the severity of the COVID-19 pandemic.
